Green Waste

We currently have our green waste paused while we catch up with the ash pile. We encourage customers to apply for a burn permit with Rio Arriba County. Once we have a reopen date we will announce it on our website and update our newsletter.

Holidays

Please be aware that we are closed on October 13th in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day. Routes will be running a day behind.

Routes / Polycart Pickups:

  • All trash in the bin must be bagged or barrels will not be serviced.
  • Bins must be out by 7:00AM
  • Please but one foot of space in between carts so the truck arm can fit in between.
  • Place carts away from fences and other obstacles.
  • Do not place any items on top of polycart lid such as rocks as it can damage the compacting system.

For more information please visit our Operations / Residential Page on our Website.

Needle Safety

Please make sure all needles are DISPOSED OF PROPERLY. Improper disposal of needles puts our employees at hazardous risks. DO NOT PLACE LOOSE NEEDLES IN POLYCARTS. Needles must be placed in a marked sharps container, if unable to obtain a sharps container please use an empty plastic container such as a laundry detergent jug that does not leak with the lid taped on, to avoid pokes. Dispose of a household sharps container when it is 2/3's full at Alcalde Transfer Station. Please notify the scale attendant to minimize risk and proper disposal.

Guidance on using FDA-cleared or heavy-duty plastic containers for sharps; don't use milk, soda, glass, or water bottles.
