COVID-19
To all NCSWA Customers:
The COVID-19 situation has affected all of us to a large degree. Everyone at North Central Solid Waste is taking all available precautions to protect the health and safety of you, our valued customers, as well as the health and safety of all of our employees.
During the last two to three weeks, we have seen a significant increase in the MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) volumes across our Tierra Amarilla, Córdova, El Prado, and Ohkay Owingeh Convenience Centers, and also across our Alcalde Transfer Station. This is understandable, as many in our communities are taking advantage of this “COVID time” to move unwanted refuse from their homes and businesses. We very much appreciate your efforts to keep the solid waste off the landscape, and bring your solid waste to us so that we can in turn move the waste to the landfills.
Please note: While The Alcalde Transfer Station and the Tierra Amarilla Convenience Center are designed to handle larger daily MSW volumes, the smaller Córdova, El Prado, and Ohkay Owingeh Convenience Centers are not so designed. Please be advised that, if you are bringing larger MSW loads to El Prado, Córdova, or Ohkay Owingeh, you may be redirected by the Attendant to take your load to the Alcalde Transfer Station or to the Tierra Amarilla Convenience Center. This will ensure that we can continue to handle and process all MSW each day as safely and efficiently as possible.
Municipal Solid Waste is an essential service, and we at NCSWA are working diligently to keep the trash moving. As General Manager of NCSWA, I thank you for your help in ensuring we can continue to do just that.
Sincerely,
Peter Fuller
General Manager, NCSWA
