NCSWA Temporary Disruption of Trash Pick-Up Services
To our valued NCSWA customers:
Unprecedented and unforeseen national, state and regional solid waste driver and laborer shortages have made it necessary for NCSWA to make the following temporary service changes for the City of Española and Rio Arriba County residents.
Effective immediately, we will no longer be picking up trash from side streets, private drives or county roads.
We are asking all residential customers to pull your poly carts to the nearest major street. For example, if you live on Pheasant Lane, you will need to pull your poly cart to the closest main road, which in this case is La Joya Street. If you prefer, you may self-haul your household trash to any of our collection center or to our Alcalde Transfer Station, up to 96 gallons weekly, at no additional cost.
We are also asking all senior low-income and handicapped customers to make temporary arrangements to have someone assist you with hauling your poly cart to the nearest main road. We are very much aware that this is an inconvenience and we assure you that we are doing everything humanly possible to minimize the impact of these temporary service level disruptions and return to business as usual. This includes an aggressive campaign to recruit drivers and laborers under our HR Rapid Hire Initiative, as well as advertising in our local newspapers, on social media and on our website. We encourage anyone seeking full-time employment to apply immediately,
Respectfully,
Janet Saucedo
NCSWA General Manager
